LoadingAshtanga is the same set sequence, every time. You work through a fixed series of postures in the same order, which sounds rigid but means you can track your progress precisely as the sequence becomes familiar. It is physically demanding and traditionally taught in a self-paced Mysore style, where everyone in the room moves through the series at their own speed while the teacher adjusts individuals. All of that assumes some baseline strength and mobility, so if you are brand new to yoga it is usually kinder to start with hatha or a beginner class first. It is a smaller scene here, New South Wales holding the most studios at 26, then Queensland on 18 and Victoria on 17, and the inner-Melbourne suburb of Brunswick, Byron Bay and the Sydney suburb of Caringbah each showing a couple of options. Find a studio by suburb below and enquire from the profile.
